SECTION OF PERIODONTOLOGY

TITLE/RANK:  Assistant/Associate Professor / Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor (depending on qualifications)

JOB DESCRIPTION:  The Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine is seeking applications for a full-time tenure track position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level in the Department of Surgical Sciences and Community Care, Section of Periodontology. Responsibilities include didactic and clinical teaching in the predoctoral program and service to the University. For tenure track appointments independent research and scholarly activity is also expected. Working in collaboration with other faculty, both in research and teaching, is strongly encouraged. 

TERM OF CONTRACT:  Full-time, continuing 

SOURCE OF FUNDS:  State

SALARY RANGE:  Commensurate with qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:  A D.M.D. or D.D.S degree from a CODA accredited dental school or international equivalent and specialty training in a CODA accredited Periodontics postgraduate program and American Board of Periodontology eligibility or certification are required. Previous teaching experience and/or a record of research accomplishments through publication and external funding are desirable.  

Candidates holding an M.S. degree are preferred. Applicants must be licensed to practice dentistry in the state of Illinois, or be able to meet the requirements for Illinois licensure. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Intramural faculty practice is available.
